Seamus Lynch

Seamus Lynch is Chairman and principal shareholder in Chill Insurance, Ireland’s fastest growing online Insurance provider.

Seamus is also a director of Digicel Group Ltd, a total telecommunications company operating across 31 countries in the Caribbean, Central America and South Pacific region.

Seamus obtained a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (B Comm.) from University College Dublin in 1989 and an MBS in International Marketing a year later. In 1990 he joined Eircom in its New Enterprise Department identifying new business opportunities for the company. In 1993, he was transferred to Eircell (Eircom’s mobile arm) as GSM Sales Development Manager.

Seamus joined Esat Telecom in early 1994 as part of its GSM licence bid team and he managed, for two years, the successful application for Ireland’s second GSm licence, ahead of international competitors such as AT&T Wireless, Millicom, Deutsche Telekom, Tele Denmark and SBC. Seamus then transferred to project management, where he helped to set up Esat Digifone and assumed the position of National Sales Manager.

On the sale of Esat Telecom Group plc to British Telecom Group plc, Seamus joined Digicel as Chief Executive Officer for Digicel Jamaica. A year after the successful launch of the company, Seamus was named Chief Executive Officer of Digicel Jamaica and from October 2002 to December 2004 he served as Chief Executive Officer.

With Seamus’ leadership, Chill Insurance has grown to be one of the biggest insurance brokers in Ireland with a recent pre-tax profits up by 37%. Seamus’ vision is for Chill Insurance to lead by innovation and service excellence and to drive the key changes expected in the insurance industry over the coming years.
