Michael O’Reilly is a lawyer (Solicitor and Barrister) with an extensive background in private practice, business, politics, litigation management, governance and strategic planning.
He began his career in international and banking taxation and then commercial and banking law. He left private practice in the mid-1980s to create a financial services business (structured finance) located in Shannon and Dublin, of which he was CEO for ten years.
He has also undertaken a number of political assistance programmes for a leading US democratisation body – the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) – in Latin America and the Balkans. He authored a book on the war-crimes trials of Ramush Haradinaj, former Prime Minister of Kosovo, which was published in 2015.
